Although all 190 Sonoma vineyards are wonderful (and we can recommend quite a few!), if you like variety, you can't miss visiting these three Inn neighbors.
Vast vineyard views and an open-air tasting room (presided over by the delightful Shirley) are the trademarks of
Iron Horse Ranch and Vineyards (707-887-1507). From a sparkling Wedding Cuvee to a dark, rich Cabernet, the winery also offers a list of wines a mile long — many of them unique blends, and each excellent in its own right. Named for an iron, horse-shaped weather vane discovered on the property, the winery has built its reputation over the years, and now its vintages are served at the White House.
20 minutes north of the Inn on the Russian River is Moshin Winery. The winery is a four-tier, gravity flow production featuring Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines.
Marimar is 5 minutes from the Inn on Graton Road nestled in the rolling hills of Western Sonoma County. This Green Valley Appellation is a perfect microclimate for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines.
Freestone Winery is located in the historic town of Freestone on the Bohemian Highway only 5 minutes from the Inn at Occidental. Designed to blend into the landscape, the Freestone winery is situated in the midst of the vineyards.
